The Veps Research Bacteriostatic Water is a sterile, non-pyrogenic preparation of water for injection containing 0.9% (9mg/mL) of Benzyl Alcohol added as a bacteriostatic preservative. It is supplied in a multi-dose plastic fliptop vial specially designed for the safe reconstitution of lyophilized research compounds.

Mechanism: Why “Bacteriostatic”? Unlike standard “Sterile Water for Injection” which is single-use only, Bacteriostatic Water allows for multiple entries into the vial. The presence of Benzyl Alcohol acts as a bacteriostatic agent, inhibiting the growth of most potentially contaminating bacteria for up to 28 days after the vial is opened.

  • Preservation: The 0.9% Benzyl Alcohol solution works by disrupting the cell membrane of microorganisms, ensuring the solvent remains stable and sterile during repeated use.

  • Solubility: It is the preferred solvent for dissolving peptide structures, as it maintains the correct pH balance to prevent peptide degradation (denaturing) during the reconstitution process.

Usage & Storage This product is strictly for use as a solvent for dissolving Research Peptides and drugs. Once the vial is breached (rubber stopper punctuated), the 28-day shelf-life clock begins. Store at room temperature (20-25°C) before opening, and refrigerate (2-8°C) after opening/reconstitution.
